Dr. Brian Patrick:
Dr. Patrick has worked at Northgate Small Animal Hospital since 2001. He  became the managing veterinarian in November of 2007, when the former owner Dr. Gass retired. He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Illinois. He has been in private practice for ten years. Although he now works with small animals he has also worked with dairy cows at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Dr. Patrick and his wife Rennie have a son Alex, a daughter Elyse, three cats, Oscar, Felix and Rusty and two dogs, Piper and Baron, both adopted from Northgate clients. When not working he enjoys camping, hiking, water-skiing and general aviation.








Dr. John Ring: Dr. Ring has been practicing veterinary medicine at Northgate Small Animal Hospital since February 1996. He graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1985 with a Master's Degree in Physiology then went on to the University of Illinois to study veterinary medicine obtaining his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1989. He has worked in the field of veterinary medicine for 25 years. His experiences range from research with rats, mice and rhesus monkeys to volunteering and practicing with cattle, horses, pigs and ostriches.When he married Patty, he acquired a large animal family consisting of  7 step cats and a step parrot. Dr. Ring enjoys golfing with old friends, cruising the countryside, home improvement projects and model building.







No Description resized to 300 pixels wideDr. Lucas Stahlheber: Dr. Stahlheber joined the Northgate crew in April of 2008. He attended Southern Illinois University from 1998 to 2002. He then went on to the University of Illinois and graduated in 2006 with his doctrate in veterinary medicine. Prior to joining us here at Northgate he worked for two years at a mixed animal practice in Jerseyville IL. He has two mixed breed dogs, Calvin and Sophie, both of whom were obtained from the Humane Society. His wife Kristin is also a veterinarian. His hobbies include hiking, playing the guitar and photography.










Dr. Jen Hoffmann:  
Dr. Hoffman started work at Northgate Small Animal Hospital in June of 2009. She graduated from Truman State University in 2005 with a degree in Animal Science. She then went on to attend the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine where she was presented the College of Veterinary Medicine Award for Academic Excellence in 2005. She graduated in 2009 with a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hoffman has two dogs Jake an Australian Shepherd mix and Deus a Black Lab adopted from a shelter. She also has two horses Beau and Classy,  both Paints, raised from yearlings. She loves outdoor sports; camping, canoeing and horseback riding. She also likes to cook, bake and read but not all at the same time.
